Rescapée on the métro

My friend, Nelly Gillet, was on the Paris métro recently when she glanced up and saw that the woman next to her was reading Rescapée, the French version of my novel The Captive Wife. They immediately struck up a conversation. Nelly explained that she knew me and asked if she might take a photo because I would appreciate that the book is read on the métro.

This is Madame Claudine Baschet, a French actress, and here is her picture, with her permission. She and I have now exchanged some lovely emails. She was on the way home from a performance when Nelly met her. She had recently bought the book from the Musée du Quai Branly where it is for sale at the small shop at the end of the “Maori” exhibition.
